Building it Right in Healthcare

Each year 200,000 Canadians die due to hospital-acquired infections (HAI), many of them directly related to something going wrong during a construction or renovation project. If dust particles contaminated with bacteria and/or fungi are dispersed during construction, there may be health risks for patients, residents staff or visitors. Early planning in construction and renovation projects is critical and must integrate infection prevention and control, engineering services, and building design to prevent HAI’s. Learn how to prevent infections and keep patients, residents, staff and visitors in our healthcare facilities safe.
